I slightly disagree with the O.Z. - Spooner’s new girl vibe has just about worn off. I love her - she’s part of the crew. Everyone calls her “Spoons” now which is great. I’ll go a little higher and give it a B. ... B+ for Matt Ryan flipping out ... B- for the crazy fro hijinks (Gus better be 4 stories tall next time

If I say I thought Black Widow was on par with the other Marvel films it sounds like damning with faint praise - but I think they pulled off a very entertaining spy-picture. It’s both on par with the MCU and Bond and Bourne. In the 25-some MCU rankings, Black Widow sits comfortably at the 15 to 12 range.

Everything’s an upgrade from last week.

Thank You!! I went back and watched twice to try and pick out the quotes (and watch the black hole(s?) fx to try and catch some significance).

That’s the real cultural significance that WB kinda backed into, and still hasn’t done much with: The Warner Toons were able to shake hands with Urban, Black, Basketball fandom ... and for a year it held together pretty well. The House of Mouse never got there. Tom and Jerry deserves props for being set in a Black

You’re right. I believe ... (right?) I believe they played the song three and a half times during the run of an 88 minute movie. The song was HUGE. It was itself a throwback to 80's soundtrack giants of 6/8 years prior. It may be the last giant dinosaur of the movie/soundtrack song era. Has there been one since?*(How

I agree. But this is HBO. They asked for a meeting as to whether or not Chernobyl could have a second season.

It's as petty as politics.

With Majors going all-in with the MCU, I can see why HBO canned Lovecraft Country. (Yes, his character died - but they were doing a multiverse over there too) I’m not condoning HBO’s decision here, just making an observation that WB, Netflix, and Disney can be vindictive motherfuckers.

It read like a lonely guy who is too chatty when he finally gets visitors.

Yup again. A black-cast for Fantastic Four works really well for me.

This comment nailed it. Thank you.

It was a good bit of acting, editing, and glowing eye effects that the show accomplished in order to convincingly show Clark struggling with being possessed.* It’s a trope that can come off as silly or campy when done less successfully. (Going all the way back to Captain Kirk slamming himself into walls!) I was

Any Flash episode that brings back the mind-meld helmets and the MFing Jumper Cables (!!) automatically goes up one letter grade in my book.

Julia Louis Dreyfuss is oka-ay so far. Tbh after Veep ended, I was glad to get a break from Selina Meyer. That she’s back here ... is a little type-casting-ish. Sure, she’s a pro snark machine. I assume she’ll get a focus spotlight in Hawkeye. One of the under-reported pleasures of Captain America: TWS was that Nick

Fortunately, the Black Widow orchestral music was excellent. After Endgame, the BW credits seemed brief by comparison.

Glammy Z & Grungey Z - nice!

Sad Meta Moment: Zari 2.0 realizing that she’s “Zari 2.0" (at least in the hearts of some of the other crew members) after Sara slips and refers to Zari 1.0 as “Zari 1.0.” Props to Nate for identifying her sadness and working to alleviate it: “You’re my Zari too.”

I’d say watch the last 3 of season 1 - catch the wrap up of the “first” inquisitor storyline.
