You could have flipped May and Mack’s ending and it would have worked just as well.

Heavy is the head that wears the duster ... and wields the shotgun-axe.
May v Ward at the end of S1 with the nail gun. I think that was my first AoS “Dayumm!”
You could see where it would go: Daisy would have had to have taken Jiaying’s body to young Doctor Kyle and somehow performed a resurrection. Maybe a human sacrifice or something might have “cured” her broken neck. Kyle would have to appear de-aged. It’s a long limb to go out on. Maybe with some rewrites the show…
That feeling at the end, when you realize they’re all in a hologram space, is also like, “Oh, in their way they’ve made peace with The Framework. It's just a tool now." That also contributed to the bittersweetness of it all.
I almost wanted a flash take on Deke in his timeline. “We’re the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ... and we’re here to rock the house down!!” (electric power guitar riff) Like they’re in some wacko Josie and the Pussycats style timeline that the actual comic books surely would have mirrored in the 80's. Young Victoria Hand on…
If Disney can learn the lesson that Clone Wars and Rebels were indeed good feeder material for more Star Wars content - then maybe they’ll learn it here too. Sadly, if anything was learned from the Tom Holland drunk-plea deal with Sony, it's that CEOs have egos that outweigh fan opinion. Tom got lucky, but it seems…
It makes sense enough in that A) in Jemma’s perspective she would be away from her daughter for months - freaking out & B) Maybe the show didn’t explain it well enough, but I gathered that Sybil could “hear” Jemma & Fitz’ thoughts remotely - or when within a close proximity - for mind-machine reasons. Having her…
If you keep Sleeper and Clockwork Orange in mind, there’s an aesthetic there where you can see why Kubrick thought of Allen. It wouldn’t have worked of course, and I suspect (as with Bill Murray) Kubrick would have brought them in, shot tests, and dumped them eventually. I mean, he kind of likes blank leading men, so…
B- seems a tad harsh, but I get the complaints. Clearly this is of a piece with the finale, so I’m not going to get too wrapped up in overthinking it.
I’m thinking Cindy is being set up for season two or three big-bad. I mean - no duh, I suppose - but I wouldn't be surprised if she was not involved in the finale at all. Just an escape and a "Mwah-ha haa!" fade to black.
Supergirl used that Bowie song so I'm thinking there's some Warner's synergy going on here.
The Karaoke Bar episode with Ed Helms was by far the best - and it was the best thing Ed Helms had been in a long while. I’m kinda lukewarm on Ed Helms’ career but the dude shines when he’s among Muppets.
The 80's vibes continue to be strong as young Paxton channels one of his dad’s first screen appearances. Because of course young John Garrett would essentially be Chet from Weird Science.
I heart Piper.
Jovan Adepo getting a nom was a pleasant surprise too. Complicated role - kind of a coiled & internal character - one of the toughest characters in the show to play, I'd guess.
I’d be happy if Cecily Strong won. All of her recurring characters kill. Every single one.
Jeffrey Wright for Westworld? For his one scene? Wait ... Okay he had a kill-people scene ... a shootin-the-shit in a hotel room scene ... And the one good scene in the living room. The others don't count because they were running around-transitional scenes. Seriously.
I’m okay with Irons getting in there for a lead nom. He pulled the whole B plot along basically as the lead in a 3 character plot. It dovetailed really well when it came together... when his story finally joined the main story. Plus Irons in the supporting category would have blanked one of the other guys.
I was going to stop with season one ... but yeah, three days later and I’m well into season two. There’s lots of high points I’m looking forward to. Mockingbird showing up. Kyle MacLachlan! Daisy’s transformation scene. Raina becoming porcupine-girl.
