It sounds like "falling in love" was some kind of old showbiz speak. Still, he was frequently obnoxious and didn't really help the political conversation.

The show really should got to an every-other week format. Even on a regular basis, they’re episodes are better after a week off. Just open the season earlier in August, end on Memorial Day. Go ahead and do an episode per season that’s solely clips and cut-for time sketches - who cares about that at this point?
Yeah, I chalked it up to “first-episode” cast stiffness. If everyone had taken a shot of tequila before filming each scene, it would have hung together better. I’ll keep watching though. The elevator scene had some of that old PD creepiness. Dormer gets ALL the costumes and is a good lead villain.
Penny Dreadful: City of Angels dropped two days early On Demand. Just watched the premier. It’s very much a set-up episode. And very literal in its supernatural mythology.
It seemed very “slow news day at EW” over-hyped. The explosion didn’t make sense as far as where Atropos was supposed to be. What would be funny is if the show time-travels back there again several episodes or several seasons from now, and better explains the explosion and the zombies.
All her body language ticks in that scene are so great.
If they pushed it into the fall or Christmas, then it goes up against West Side Story. Now they won’t have to compete against each other in the Oscars, granted that if, in a best case scenario for Musical fans, they’d both be Oscar worthy.
Since I never watch Supernaural, the side “crossover car” elicited nothing more than a shrug. Best payoff was the hairdryer. But since the Supernatural stuff barely registers for me to begin with, the “whether or not the in-jokes land” meant nothing, and therefore I felt no feeling one way or the other that it was…
“Oh Venom, Let There Be Carnage” as narrated by Vivian Leigh in character as Scarlet O’Hara.
I got a laugh out of Joe and Cecile’s “dance move” ... and the camera cuts away! Lol.
This show is so film noir. I should do a full rewatch in black and white.
Or Orange is the New Black - Kim Wexler Edition
Starting back in Season One, Charlotte has always seemed like a “special guest star.” Since then Tessa Thompson’s star has gone up up up ... but still Charlotte Hale has felt like a side character. Until tonight. After all that, she’s straight up a main character now - which is good. TT can join with the other top…
Fred in Scooby Doo was a decent-enough consolation prize. A) No heavy as shit suit. B) Fun Co-Stars
I’m heartened to read (lo these last dozen or more Batman-related click bait articles) that generally everyone has nothing mean-spirited to say about Ben Afflek. Time was, way back in the early oughts, that Ben Afflek’s name was met with derision. I thought he did fine in the Snyderverse as well. His ill-at-ease on…
Watching it way back when, it’s true Eva’s (first series) ending is a massive WTF? It would be like if Star Wars ended with the last reel chopped off... mid sentence... during the rebel briefing on Yavin. And then there was six years of not knowing if there was ever going to be any more. It was like the ending of Twin…
I love regional theater. Get in there with some Reservoir Dogs gang! Or ... sticking to the stage. Hmm. Equus? I’d love to see the American Dolls do the Trial Before Pilate scene from Jesus Christ Superstar.
I’m just starting Killing Eve Season 2 (It’s good & it’s an easy binge - only 8 eps per season) ... I don’t need a fuck-ton of spoilerish Season 3 commercials. I’m happy AMC has it. Quit overselling it, douche-bags.
True enough. Shoulda said ecstacy.
Yeah, that was a stupid amount commercials.
