I’m with you there. The Blue Toes line kind of died in her mouth and she gave the guy a look that said, “None of this is working on you, is it?” Still, a great Kim monologue. All earnestness, with a little flip at the end to let you know - yep, she was trying to pull a “Jimmy.”

His brand needs retirement too. There’s good people working at MSNBC: Kornacki, Maddow for the most part, Velshi, Brian Williams-I think-has learned his lesson, Melber and Hayes are okay but you can see their showbiz egos growing.

Two kicks, not just for the recent dust up, but he fucked with her a month ago too.

Will Forte shrieking in the header photo is the last thing that would make me want to see this movie. Jesse’s review helps mitigate that feeling, however.

This show was great. Of all the aughts and teens comedy cartoons, this one is right up there with Flapjack and Flounder. Def funnier than Codename KND. Ed, Edd, and Eddie got close. I can’t think of anything on Nick that rivals (not counting Avatar and Kora). Zim was gone by then and SpongeBob was on the wane iirc.

Fuck, I might have mis-remembered The Right Stuff. That’s for sure where they broke for the VHS double cassette version.

I think now, they don’t or shouldn’t care as much after the theater building-boom and subsequent Netflix era has caused them all to bend over backwards to find screen filler.

I think A Passage to India did. The Right Stuff did too; I remember them cutting on “...will it be the man or the monkey? The man or the monkey?” Then lights up. When I saw Return of the Jedi back in ‘83, it had an intermission, only because the theater just broke up the film between reels half way through to sell

It was a bit of a strain to sit through.

“I took Marion to see this picture called ‘Big Trouble in Little China.’ I walked out. Couldn’t stand it. ‘They got all the details wrong!’ I was yellin’ in the lobby and carrying on. Then ol’ Marion had to remind me, 'shush sh, Indy,' she said. 'Calm down you old goat. None of that shit happened to you,' she said. I

Indiana Jones and the 99 Luftballons

Yeah, I was expecting a B or B+ grade. Even with a scattered cast, Flash, the show, seems like it’s on an upswing.

So is the movie set in ... the mid 80's?

I’m hoping it actually was Churchill’s ghost talking anal intrusion smack with Johnny Boy.

I seem to remember long ago, in grade school maybe, hearing a joke about Doris Day’s Greatest Hits. By then, in the late 70's or early 80's, it would have been passed down by several generations of kids who didn’t get the joke at the time either. Maybe I’m Mandela Effecting myself.

Three to six episodes all on Gene in black and white would be a bold move, and I imagine, would be really great too.

You never know, he might yet!

Just insofar as he’s thinking, “stay away from me, I’m loathsome.” We know he’ll return to some sort of status quo with K and Stacey, so, yeah, it lends credence to this being an actual emotional fuck-up. I think I’m always having my Vince-verse goggles on watching for character actions that seem random at first only

After it was over, I wondered if Mike’s blow up might have been kind of an attempt at a mercy-break-up. Like the proverbial kid who drops the dog he can’t keep on the side of the road and says “Get outta here! I hate you! Dumb ol’ dog.”

This was the first time I saw the connection between Gene flipping out in his lonely living room with the police scanner and Chuck & his anxiety problems. Were there hints before? Nothing good comes of McGill brothers trapped and alone.
