Yeah, but I mean - HOW? Do I put my finger over one end of the straw and shove the air that's inside the straw into the ketchup or attach a bicycle pump to the straw or ... ???

You mean we could've gotten $1,219 for my wife's gallbladder when it was removed?! D'oh!

But, u-u-umm... maybe my brain is shut down for the weekend but how exactly does one "pump" air into the bottle through the straw??

Thanks for posting this video! Those were, indeed, some cool chemical reactions.

Ew.

I don't know about that "save on milk at the pharmacy" claim. Especially if the pharmacy thinks $2.99/gal is a big deal. I often find gallons of milk for under $2.00 at my local grocery stores here in the Phoenix Metro area (Albertsons, Safeway, etc.).

I have the same problem. Could it be that it's been "Lifehacker'd"? All of us eager beavers are overloading it right now?

As one of the hard of hearing, I have to say that RELIABLE closed captioning (or subtitles) that are of high quality (with no spurious characters where apostrophes should be, etc.), that are actually sync'd with what's being said (and, even better, what sound is being played), and that are ALWAYS available with EVERY

Nope - he didn't have any friends there. As a matter of fact, he makes it a point to avoid making friends at work for the very reason you mentioned, about them being co-workers and not friends. He and I agree that co-workers CAN be friends - it's not a binary situation. But, making friends with a co-worker is fraught

I've never been in the "counteroffer" situation, but a good friend of mine has. When he resigned, they counteroffered and he took that info to the potential new employer, who then counteroffered the counteroffer. Believe it or not, the original employer - once he told them about the new employer's counter-counteroffer

Excellent idea on the luggage retrieval. (By the way - 'i' before 'e' except after 'c' on the word 'retrieval'. Surprised Google Docs didn't catch that.)

Indeed, one day our toilet was clogged badly. Not even plunging worked. Then, remembering my Lifehacker reading, I boiled a pot of water. After waiting for the water level in the toilet to shrink down (as it inevitably does), I quickly dumped the entire pot of boiling water into the toilet, aiming the stream directly

I do not use a case because I do use docks with my T-Mobile Hercules (Samsung Galaxy S II). I have the Desk Dock and Car Dock and love them both. A case would make the docks unusable, though, so... no case 4 me.

My parents hate it when I iron them.

Sorry to see you go, Jason! Who will handle Work Sounds now that you're a non-Lifehacker-ite?

I agree. My family of three has really gotten into Cozi. We use it so that each one of us can add to the grocery list whenever we discover something is needed. We also use it so we all know when the others have appointments or when we're all going to an event, etc.

I went searching for the parts recommended in this article today because my old Dell XPS 600 desktop I was prepping for use as an HTPC died. Basically, I found that all the parts would be about $715. Then, Uncrate posted that Dell/Alienware now has what they call a Gaming PC that really has the same (or better parts)

Can't play songs in US! :-(

How does one download the full-resolution version of a deviantART image? The "Better Stay in Bed" "wallpaper" says it's 4800x3000, but the best I can get from deviantART is what appears to be more of a "thumbnail" at 1280x800. Too, this image does not actually appear in the Wallpapers folder on deviantART - is that by
