After my E46 got rear-ended, I moved up to an E90 with 1/3 the miles, it’s been bulletproof so far, and I have nowhere near the anxiety every time I start it. Here’s hoping that continues!
I had an E46, and that picture brought back (horrible) memories.
No problem bud! I'd buy in a heartbeat if it weren't a little (a lot) out of my price range.
You're really going to try to defend the position that "hood rich" has no racial undertones or implications? Everyone has racial biases, even if they're subconscious or implicit. That doesn't mean we can't try to recognize and challenge them, like admitting that the term "hood rich" has racial undertones.
Pick a year, write a will, and try not to die.
My first car was a grey 97 Dodge Avenger. Never gave me a single problem, although it did teach 16 year old me that brake fade is a thing with 5 people in it. The frame was rusting, so I needed something else for commuting to school and internship. I sold it to my cousin as a cheap car to learn to drive on, and bought…
You know, in case the Viper engine won't get you from zero to dead fast enough.
Oh yes, it's funny because he thinks it should be a manual!
I see your SBC and raise you a Viper V10
Almost forgot...
I'm disappointed this hasn't been mentioned...
Took my motorcycle safety course just for kicks, I had never ridden a motorcycle before. They had us on simple TU250s, but you could have put me on a 125 and I would still be hook. That pulled me in.
A couple of years ago, when I had to pick a dissertation topic for clinical psych, my friend jokingly mentioned conducting a study on "automotive therapy". Thinking that it would be absurd and unsupported by the stuffy faculty (not to mention the lack of funding), I never gave it a thought. You've made me regret that…
It's not a magic trick. It's an illusion.
I think the term you're looking for is implicit racism, and I 100% agree it exists and that people subconsciously reinforce racist stereotypes. But I also think it's more likely that an automotive journalist following F1 for an automotive website is aware that he has, in the past, had a history of being hard on tires.
Not sure if serious...Hamilton developed a reputation for being hard on tires when he was with McLaren, because he was compared to Button, who was down on outright speed but VERY good at conserving tires. Obviously that isn't the case this year. Again, hopefully you were being sarcastic.
In terms of reliability though, I thought they were pretty sturdy for a V10 sports car, but I can't say for sure.
I won't argue with that, that's its appeal for me, but doesn't that add to the fun-to-drive-ness?
