LOL it's like they gave a 20 year old frat guy a soccer column.

I read a lot of football journalism and Greg's is deeply flawed. It's totally overhyped and tries so hard to be hip (e.g., Neymar was "the truth"; now Özil is "the truth") that it makes me roll my eyes pretty much every time. I agree he's somewhat knowledgeable, but he seriously needs to tone it down.

He overdoes it with the team nicknames, which comes across as very clueless and American. I don't see why my pointing this out should make you mad, or give you cause to insult me.

Because Greg Howard has to use maximum drama all the time.

Ryan Shawcross should be knighted for that tackle.

One of the many irritating things about Greg's soccer coverage is the overuse of team nicknames. "The Gunners" this and "The Gunners" that; "the Red Devils this" and the "Blues" that. It just doesn't sound right, sounds very cluelessly American. Most soccer writers, even Americans, don't do this.

it's going to be hilarious when they finish fifth after ramsey and giroud both have lengthy spells of injury.

But first he flew into London from Singapore.

He actually looked pretty good for Fulham on the weekend. Speaking of Spurs alumni, Huddlestone was fabulous for Hull...

Also known as the Scott Parker

They also violated his Fifth Amendment rights.

I like the rumor that he sees Mata as in league of the anti-Mourinho Spanish National Team cabal of players at Real Madrid.

It's time for old Fat Frank to sit on the bench, I'm afraid to say.

Yeah but can't Mourinho be blamed for that, at least in part? Let's blame Mourinho for everything.

Leaving Mata out of the side is just managerial malpractice. He was actually Chelsea's best player the past two years. And yet he's not starting and rumors swirl about him moving to PSG, Napoli, Tottenham, or Juve. I hope they do make the colossal blunder of selling him.

I like Texas Pete, where does that fit into your scheme? Agreed, though, Tabasco is just the worst.
