Aren’t most of those people appointed, rather than elected? How on earth can it be possible that the system allows for an unelected person to be in line for the presidency?
Do you think John is taking Jingle Jangle?
How about the mens’ dress shirts that were white, but then the sleeves were brightly coloured with cartoon prints? So he looks smartly dress while his DJ is on, but later in the night when things get lose, everyone knows he is fuuuunnn.
And she owned up to it! I might have just snuck out the front door and deleted my account.
Australia’s shit is very much not together right now...
I believe that if you reload the page, you will find the star count back to what it should be (ie. whatever it was plus your star), but yeah, it’s shit.
Pure evil. Forget those parading idiots, here are the Nazis in America.
And then not be discovered for five days, because Melania left him for a trophy husband, Barron rebelled by going to a liberal arts college to study gender theory, he can no longer afford staff, and twitter has banned him so no one notices his absence.
I don’t want him die during his term. I want him to live long enough to see all his decrees overturned and his legacy cemented into an unambiguous ‘worst president of all time’. For him to get none of the standard post-presidency honorary titles and buildings named for him, no invitation to the next inauguration,…
Yikes. I’ve organised numerous mailouts. The mailing houses do their work according to what I spec, and they send me samples before proceeding. This fuckup is a lot more than one person not doing their job.
Yeah, I’d be more inclined to believe this ‘fact’ if it was presented the other way - men who are likely to bounce are less likely to have children who are given their last name.
I had that problem with books post this series (ie. Seveneves and Anathem, which are just not my thing), but I loved the info dump aspect of the Baroque Cycle and Cryptonomicon. There’s the odd section that gets a little too mathy for me to follow though.
Definitely a recurring theme for him, I almost just said ‘Neal Stephenson’s books generally’. But I think where with his other books, the paradigm shift leads to the unknown and it’s left largely to the reader to consider what is next, with BC it’s a window into history, and that just works for me.
It’s Friday afternoon and I’m contemplating hitting up the record store on the way home, and whether there is anything new I should be looking for, and the answer is ‘Hooray, yes!’
Neal Stephenson’s Baroque Cycle, which is partly about the Renaissance and the Glorious Revolution, and the world changing from superstition and ignorance to knowledge, from absolute monarchies to more democratic models. And also pirates.
Slow-roasted with lots of garlic and rosemary, until it fulls apart, then fresh lemon squeezed over… that's the perfect way.
Why is lamb not popular in America? It's a staple in Australia.
I think this is almost the most surprising fact about Trump, that he doesn't drink. All of the usual reasons people have for not drinking don't seem to apply. It;'s clearly not for his health, he's clearly not able to be moderate and controlled in general, it's not for religious or moral reasons.
And presumably also have no plans to actually swim.
