They were a couple (or at least hooking up in some sense) before they found the rest of the group.

Is that a Pattern Recognition reference?

Preferably on a post-it next to the computer.

I hope Hoodoo Gurus is not the lie, because I love them but don't see them mentioned much (I've seen them once, on one of their many 'seriously, this time we are retiring' tours).

Thanks for posting this, what a great interview. I saw one of the shows he is talking about (in Melbourne), and it really was an amazing experience - very emotional and involving. I actually teared up a little just now reading how much it meant to him.

Goes along with the the porno joke: 'You want to put me on your great, big d…esk'.

I loved Clive finally getting on board with Liv's gossiping about Kavanagh and DeVore, and then just when it seemed like something was actually happening, Liv got her vision and we may never know.

That sounds kinda vile.

I did consider doing so but decided screw it. But anyway lollies = sweets, canteen = kiosk, maybe? They sell lunch and snacks, but no seating. Welcome back, this pedant missed you.

Ovalteenies are the best. They were one of the few lollies available in our school canteen, because of their 'healthy' branding. Think I'll have to track some down.

Also, the DMZ is 4 km wide.

Pushing Tin, the John Cusack/Billy Bob Thornton movie about air traffic controllers, from the time when there was a rash of films being made based on long-form non-fiction writing. I'd read something about it when it was being made, but no reviews, and talked my friends into seeing it. Only when we left did we find

I'm Australian, and I've had Kiwi colleagues I worked with for years without me noticing any accent.

I had a colleague whose parents were from the Azores. When she spoke Portuguese to them on the phone, I thought it was Russian.
