"The wreaths are fine. Fine wreaths!" (I love that episode)

I love the evil 'Santa' advancing on the kid… and then reaching past him to take a cookie.

Yep, just read something on another site that suggested that. I'd say they could have done more visually to distinguish the eras, except that there was at least one banner with a year on it, so it was probably actually really explicit.

There was something off about that flashback. I'm sure Caroline said something about being a freshman, and her parents are still married (Bill can't be there because he's helping his 'friend' Steve move a sofa). But then Caroline gets a Secret Santa present from Stefan, and the banner says 2009, which is when the show

You mock, but an SOA fan is getting this tattoo right now.

I wanted to recommend Dave Graney and the Coral Snakes' 'Rock and Roll is Where I Hide", which both fits the category, and could conceivably have been inspired by 'Seen and Not Seen', being about a guy changing his appearance by will (kind of).

He is not married, but lives with his girlfriend and their children. Not that this athiest gives a shit, but he certainly cherry-picks the bits of Catholicism that suit him.

Conclusive proof that George Harrison is dead!

Yep. I'll admit I'm bad at picking up accents, but I never noticed any issues with Hunnam's, even after seeing it laughed at constantly.

Took me a second read to work out you blame Joel McHale for your knowledge of this, and not for her career path.

I Wanna Marry Harry was worth it for the Go Fug Yourself recaps, which are pure gold. SEX YURT!

I saw his name in the credits, otherwise I probably wouldn't have recognised him.

I'm disappointed that my favourite spelling song, Nick Cave's Loverman, didn't come up this week. Despite using N for 'knowing', and then later for 'any', it somehow tracks perfectly.

Thanks for continuing to write these.

Jo said something last episode about joining the army to get away from her family, so I'm guessing that happened pretty soon psot-massacre and she's basically kept her distance ever since.

That never made sense last season - the travellers are planning to end witch-magic forever, and no one else comes to help? We saw the witch who was keeping doppel-Tom safe and was apparently connected to Luke and Liv, so we know they weren't literally working alone.

Glad to find someone talking TVD on AV Club, because that episode was the most fun I've had watching this show in ages. I think I had a big grin on my face half the time.
Probably agree with you about Damon and Elena - they are definitely the least interesting part of the show for me now. Elena's abandoning her date

you, the mothers, who sent their sons from faraway countries wipe away your tears; your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace

I enjoyed this episode, but I also had a moment where my suspension of disbelief failed severely. When Oliver, Roy, Nyssa and Diggle arrive at the Japanese garden I had a serious 'oh god, look at all these tools in their costumes' reaction. Roy looked especially silly. And then Diggle doesn't even go for, I don't

I love finding random bookmarks in second-hand books. Your find is especially great.
