Yeah, I thought Schmidt was supposed to be good at his job? This suddenly turned into a comedy of incompetence, with a whole load of boring gender-essentialism just to top things off.

I thought that Finch didn't really give Clare enough of a chance to choose the Machine. He knows she's been on this obsessive search for meaning via the scavenger hunt. He's just a guy who has shown up unexpectedly a few times, initially seeming like a threat. It's gonna take more than 'you need to choose right' from

Hadn't caught the changes to the credits - very nice.

Had to google that - amusing, but only reinforces the biddiness of the name…

Just before my seventeenth birthday, there was a hit song in Melbourne called 'Happy Birthday Helen'. On the day of my birthday, every second person at school sang that at me, and then didn't understand why I was not impressed.

Argh, cultural Helens are usually either shrews or dead first wives. Helen Lovejoy is the first that comes to mind.

The one that always get me is when you see an outtake or behind-the-scenes clip of a scene at a dance or nightclub, and there's no music, but all the extras have to dance around without a beat, and you just hear all the feet scuffing around on the floor.

Amazing how much of this I have completely forgotten. Thanks!

Ah, thanks. I was thinking they found out about him killing Miles, back a couple of seasons ago. Can't remember if that has ever been exposed.

I can't remember why the club is after Juice - can anyone jog my memory?

It's the thought of a Katey Sagal Fat Albert cover for the montage that takes this to sublime.

I've been rewatching the early seasons. In the first episode, Jax tries to avoid shooting someone (who is a Mayan who stole from SoA) and only does it when it becomes self-defense. And now he's shooting allies just to move the chess pieces around (the two guys that Jury recruited to help them).

I felt like Jax wasn't even trying to sell his lies in this episode - everything he said sounded insincere and sarcastic.

Now we also have purple to distinguish the Niners from… someone else.

I watched this at school too. It actually didn't really stick with me - I can't remember all that gore, just everyone tittering at … all the tits. Impact probably not helped by the early nineties school technology, where the one VCR and TV in the school gets wheeled into the classroom at the start of the lesson,

Buffy and Giles? You sick bastards.

'Rough' is too harsh. The show is never unwatchable (apart from the terrible fake beard - don't look too closely at the beard!). Pick up the key episodes mentioned below, but if you enjoy them, it's definitely worth going back to watch the whole thing.

No coverage of The Originals any more either? I just rewatched S1 and found it better the second time round. How disappointing!

With TWoP gone, there are no websites I read covering Vampire Diaries. Does anyone have any recommendations of places that are covering it?

Eh, you can adapt without it turning into a cookie-cutter teen slasher.
