Hey Torch, man, thanks for a bunch of good times here. I’m sorry the site is exploding due to weaponized incompetence, but if it’s any consolation the work you and your colleagues do is great, and I am confident it will soon be recognized by someone who knows how to, say, own and operate a media website.

So Deadspin’s fucked thanks to Jimmy’s inability to run a successful business. Deadspin has now had all its comments turned off and several staffers have very publicly quit after the firing yesterday.

I, and Mr. Maidment, both appreciate your dedication to sports. 

Barry Patchesky was fired from Deadspin for refusing to stick to Spanfeller and the rest of the G/O overlords insistence that the site “sTicK tO sPorTs.”

It felt more and more imminent over time that Kotaku was going to get gutted, but I never imagined it was going to happen like this. I will never click another “Gawker” link ever again. Fuck this and fuck them.

Well, now we are going to see how strong the union is, because GMG is going to try to break it in the next few days. Hopefully the writers for all the Kinja sites stick together, but GMG is going to be trying hard to split them up.
