In a related story, an amateur magician, a birthday party clown, and a wedding reception DJ all simultaneously released statements declaring that the Trump administration had falsely claimed that they would be performing at next week's inauguration.

Not so fast about Jennifer Holliday. Looks like she might be yet another one the Trump team's announced who isn't actually going to be there:
Would you seriously claim the James Comey thing right before the election— which the media dutifully reported— was "actual verifiable fact"?
I'm still confused as to why you're calling me a moron when you seem to be agreeing with what I'm saying. Unless you read the first paragraph I wrote in that first post literally rather than sarcastically, then obviously I'm suggesting it's exactly NOT how the media would have behaved.
It's incredibly important whether the media is still giving all sorts of consideration to the right wing that it doesn't give to the left. If you miss that this is one of the key factors in why we're in this mess to begin with, and why this is something we specifically have to fight, then paint your face or not,…
Before you call me a moron, are you saying that "yes, that's how the media would have behaved with a similar dossier on Clinton" or "no, that's not how they would have behaved"?
This last season didn't go off the rails halfway through. It might have been the best season— it was certainly the most cohesive.
Hey, if the President is in league with one of our country's biggest historical enemies, no big whoop.
Yes, because if the media had been handed a dossier from, well, anyone, during the election accusing Hillary Clinton of being in league with Russia and offering lurid allegations, they'd have been oh-so-cautious about releasing it, and we'd all be spending time now with the media navel-gazing about its release and…
"Spinning Treason" should be the name of a band.
Exactly! Trump is a racist, sexual harassing, treasonous con artist, but Meryl Streep was in the movie The House of the Spirits (1993) that "wasn't well-received by the critics."
And Trump's followers, particularly the supposedly religious ones, would be all over the internet harassing and insulting "special snowflake" Jesus.
We know that the you we think we know knows that. But what about the you that's in the Black Lodge?
They didn't report it here, but on an article on another site, the Showtime CEO says specifically that they've seen all the episodes (lucky them) and that the new run is "close-ended" by design. I think Lynch wanted to put a period at the end of Twin Peaks, so I wouldn't expect more after these 18 hours.
Aim higher.
We've not only elected an internet troll as president, we've elected one of the world's laziest internet trolls.
On top of the sound problems, which forced you to turn on (seriously lagging) closed-captioning if you wanted to make out much of what anyone was singing, was it smart to make the opening number a concept based on multiple references to a movie that hasn't yet been widely-released nationwide?
What the media has to learn to do with Trump is focus tightly on one big scandal, keep covering it over and over and over again, and tune out all the mini "Trump goes on a Twitter rant against C3P0" or "Trump says he's going to turn the Lincoln Memorial into a Walmart" kind of idiotic, deliberately distracting noise.
The biggest surprise in all of this is that (as far as I can tell) Trump has yet to personally attack this woman on Twitter.
I have a theory that somebody made some sort of "Monkey's Paw"-like deal with Death back a while ago. They were like "hey, Death, if you take Scalia you can have your choice from a lot of people everyone loves." But, see, they phrased it badly. What they meant to say was " you can have your choice of one person…
