Totally. I'm sure Chris Hemsworth's looks and physique had nothing to do with him landing Thor, or any of the actors in any Superhero movie. Or any leading man in the 1000s of Rom-coms. Totally positive Robert Pattinson would have landed twilight if he had a beer gut.

Yeah, It's totally unusual to want to make sure an actor/actress looks the part before casting them.

It's sexist to tell an actor to dress sexy for a sexy role now. Because I'm sure there are no roles where they request male actors to be in shape and have rippling muscles because the role demands it. And come to the casting call wearing clothes similar to their characters.
