I think your first statement that’s he’s having his DNA tested to “just be 100% certain he doesn’t have any black in him” is roundly unfair. He clearly states he doesn’t know for sure and wants to find out. There is nothing wrong with that, and it doesn’t show that he wants the outcome to be 100% white.
Bear in mind, that guy likes to talk about how ugly Nick Foles is every time he discusses the Eagles/Rams.
I’m often confused why a feminist website that should be promoting women’s work is always focusing on feminine failures. Surely there are plenty of bad movie openings for men? Can’t this feminist web page just lay off of women when things don’t go well? Why are Jezebel staff always doing this? I don’t understand. Why…
Garçon also sued Google for racial harassment for calling him “boy.”
It’s the opposite. It’s a black comedy that turns the White saviour narrative on its head. But you’d know that if you read up on it a little instead of repeating the narrative jez is pushing like a parrot.
Except it’s not a white saviour movie. Actually it’s the opposite. But, you know, God forbid you actually do something research or even watch the movie. It’s not doing well because halloween weekend is not a good time for Political black comedies and because the movie itself is uneven. Just because Escobedo Shepherd…
Rational person: a badly written, produced and directed movie which not even a big star could save, plus an unfortunate release date. Nothing else to see here.
I don’t think the “white savior” label is accurate when describing this movie/the true story that inspired the movie. If you read up on the true events or even watch the documentary (which I highly recommend), you’ll see that, in a way, these events work to turn the “white savior trope” on its head, and send out a…
...and also stars Billy Bob Thornton as a fictional James Carville.
The problem is that this particular “white savior narrative” is one that explains how America has fucked up political systems around the world. I really wish this movie hadn’t sucked so hard because of everything going on in the Middle East right now.
As far as titles go, Our Brand Is Crisis is one of the worst I've ever read.
Why on earth would a film company release a non-horror film on Halloween weekend??
Rational person: this movie failed because it was a shitty white savior narrative.
That dumbass title is the main reason I won't see this film.
Wait a minute. I’ve heard of towns banning saggy pants, but where has anyone actually banned a white T-Shirt?
I have a legitimate question.
