Just read an Abu Ghraib torturer's memoir: Consequence, by Eric Fair. I recommend it. It's short, with concise and declarative sentences that actually got on my nerves a little bit, but the story he tells is honestly self-appraising and it's a wild look into what went so wrong over there.
