WOOPS. I didn’t see the 1,000 other replies to your post...sorry sir.

ISS is still under the relative safety of earths magnetic field. Apollo worried more with the Van Allen belt.
I guess you listen to Pierre Sprey? He also said similar things about the F-15...
What makes you so sure it doesn’t work? The program hasn’t even reached full rate initial production yet. Code is just about is all that’s left to do on it.
Go do a quick cost projection on that comparison and get back with us.
You do know this was developed AFTER the cold war, right?
Nice buzz. Couldn’t have said it better myself
No they did not. The air frame did stretch by 3" due to aerodynamic heating. Curtain portions of the skin of the bird were corrugated to deal with the heat stresses on the titanium skin. It rode the wind like speedboat does the water.
You obviously have no idea how intelligence works.
I couldn’t at the moment remember gross weight. I didn’t bother to look it up at the time. Thank’s for the correction.
I was lambasted on another post just a day ago arguing this exact point. It can also haul 30,000 lbs of ordinance and nobody believes it AT ALL
It’s dickbutt is hideous though.
Exactly. Anything manned will just be used as a mother-ship.
What everyone doesn’t seem to understand is by the time they retrofit all these upgrades to an air frame designed in the 70's is that it ends up costing more than the 35 itself, so why not go ahead and buy more of the 35? The only area where the 35 doesn’t match up with the 15 is in what? Speed and weapons load? We’ve…
It has greater range than the 22. It has greater range than the F-18. Give it time. Once it gets past IOC and proves itself in a-2-a the air force will want to replace the F-15 with the F-35. We’ve gotten about all we can get out of the F-15.
Seems to me congress bought plenty. They’re still rolling off the production line the last time I checked. There hasn’t been any recent rumblings in congress to decrease the numbers either. No matter how much you hate it, it’s replacing the F-16, AV-8B, F-18, A-10 and possibly the F-15...once it has a decent chance to…
Yes it can. Not up to the F-22's standard, but it will be a capable fighter. Especially in BVR. Which is exactly one of it’s best features.
What makes you think the F-35 isn’t a fighter? Because of the whole F-16 fight? The F-35 was neutered. It’ll be every bit as capable as the F-15.
All valid points. Much better assertion than mine, sir.
It’s the same thing with the F-35 though. I believe when all the kinks in the software are sorted, it will be more effective than a 30 year old aircraft though. They can upgrade it all they want, but it’s still an old design. I’m not trying to condescend, or flame your post but so many people dog the 35 when the exact…
