Back in the 90s the early Renaissance films were still ubiquitous years after they came out, like Frozen and Moana are today. I haven’t seen any such lasting fascination for the remakes.

I saw it once on Easter around seventeen years ago. Maybe some channels keep it on as a tradition?

Check the dots *above* the pics, not below.

I wonder if I should start collecting random childhood ephemera now to sell in 30 years.

I tried to move a photo onto my iPad one time; it took about half an hour to figure it out. Do I need to use iCloud? Do I have to sync it? Do I have to put it in a special folder? How can I activate drag and drop?

Oh that’s not glorifying a horrible criminal at all. That soundtrack would go perfectly with a videogame, ffs.

That doesn’t make much sense. The Western Roman empire fell hundreds of years after it had conquered Europe; by that time everyone in the Empire considered themselves “Roman”. There’s a reason why France and Spain still speak Romance languages.

In 2001 I would have loved learning this trivia, and today’s 10 year old fans of HP might too. But are 2019's kids a major part of the fanbase? The majority of her readers might have just moved on.

I wonder if kids these days think that pre-digital TV was just a scramble of images with VHS and analog signal distortion effects?

This goes beyond moral relativism - this group has been isolated for tens of thousands of years. We know more about cat psychology than we do about the Sentinelese. We don’t even know their language. You think they killed Chau because they were offended by his Christianity? They don’t even know that Christianity

This was just so stale - it seemed like every second joke was just a generic rehash of a line from Futurama

That actually does look like a man getting pulled into a dough machine, though. See the boots?

IRL, Christopher Robin Milne actually resented the Pooh stories as an adult and became estranged from his parents.

Why is Rudy Giuliani wearing a dress?

I have. I’ve done it. It’s a routine thing to do at cafes.

I’ve had the experience of kicking people out of a cafe before, and frankly, this situation doesn’t seem any different from the ones I’ve been through. I’ve even been asked if I was kicking someone out because he was black before, but it was never true.

I don’t think Al Jean and his ilk really deserve the flattering interpretation that they make fun of the stereotypers rather than the stereotypes. On the Simpsons, yeah, there’s a lot of hedging self-awareness, but if you look at their work on The Critic 20 years ago, it’s pretty clear they mean what they say. You

“Interested” in feminism, huh? You mean like stamp collecting or playing with railroads?

In the re-design, where is the permanent link/portal for Savage Love now? I’ve only been ever been able to find it through a search recently, or waayy down the homepage the day after a new posting.
