More like you DEFINITELY need a budget if you don’t have much money.

Thought for sure this was Nicholas Cage from The Rock

This is all well and good if you want to keep the same house for 30 years. Even then, repairs like roof replacements, etc. need taken into account, but if you budget for them it’s ok and you may still come out ahead. If you don’t want to keep the same house for 30 years, say you move jobs every 3 years but this time

I’m impressed that you spelled shower head wrong in 2 different ways in the article. “Showerhards” and “shower heards.” You managed to copy the Reddit article name incorrectly...

Probably depends on the investments he has access to through his job. If the fees are low maxing out the 401k is a good option. Also, you should look into backdoor Roth contributions.

I’ll take that Aeron off your hands then ;)

scroll saws are fun

If you’re making macarons without a Silpat, I’d say you were doing it wrong. Parchment paper is great though, and I use both for different things

Of course you can save more for retirement, it just won’t be tax-advantaged. If you’re in a good place with savings now, that’s great you may not need to save more. But if you do care about aggressively saving for early retirement, after-tax accounts still work!

$12,500...

Isn’t that what the chart is saying? It’s cheaper to have a mortgage in Tampa than to rent...

Woah! I didn’t realize Brownlee made tech videos. I just knew he played ultimate well. Seems everyone else knows he made tech videos...and may not know he plays ultimate. So interesting!

What do you mean by online pricing? They won't price match online retailers? I've had them price match 6pm.com before, and I believe that's only an online retailer.

Nordstrom - 2 words...price match. They will price match another competitor's price, and still give you free shipping/free returns. I've yet to find a company whose return policy is as generous as Nordstrom as well and their customer service is usually spot-on. So that's always an option.

Are you saying making out is a substitute for running 37 floors? I will try it out for science.

Yep, with heavy hiking boots on. Granted they're not running the stairs usually, mostly just walking, but their endurance is in top form.

Yay Cathedral of Learning! I run stairs there and mix it up with plyos, running, jogging, jumping, etc. I think it's lots of fun. Not everyone has access to a huge tall building with lots of stairs, but if you do it's a great workout.

Not sure 16 martinis is wimple haha

I assume you don’t have a manual car. haha

But this article is about being middle class...and most middle class people ARE choosing between a newish car and an older one. Low income families are different. So I would say it is about how much you save vs how much you spend.
