The present day stuff is unbelievably dull and the payoff is like that it makes you go, oh I sort of see how this is superficially similar to the past stuff, but just in the sense that people were murdered in both stories.

No real plot spoilers (besides the one that the trailer spoiled), but if you don’t want to hear some vague descriptions of action scenes and the premise of at least one joke, maybe fast forward through it.
