absolutely - i think dieting can be very unhealthy, esp. for kids. and i totally get not pushing “you’re overweight.” i just sometimes question the 24/7 positive you’re beautiful business. when do you tell a kid, “ya know, you could lose a little bit of weight.” i guess not until they’re older.

i’ll refer you to where i said “i don’t have a huge dog in this fight, ‘cause it is only 10 pounds.” what i meant by that was “i know it isn’t a big deal, but it is 10 (or so) pounds.” 10 pounds is 10 pounds. not a lot, but not nothing.

serious question - i have an 8-year old girl. she could stand to lose about 10 pounds. her mother will absolutely not tell her that she needs to lose weight. she’ll tell her to exercise, but if the kid asks why, she’ll only tell her ‘cause it is healthy, and then nothing comes of it. my wife will absolutely not allow…
