@Knirfie: To compete these things have to be cheaper than the iPad. Added value is nice but customers want good and cheap. If the iPad is a cheaper with known quality, why pay more for something of ambiguous quality?

@goaliegeek: That one is not made by google. It is not "official".
@.max: No joke, I hate it, too. But there's a fix.
I can't wait to access my neighbor's unsecured super-wifi network. What witty names will I see from 3 miles away? I hope they're better than "virus zone 3000" or "I hear you having sex". Yeah you hear me because you're not getting any. I hope you stay flaccid with rage.
@zero-kill: I think it's a family guy reference.
Awesome. One day I may to take target practice on their cars. The only difference: I'm adding speed holes.
$800 for a $25k device? What a steal!
@santiagocaballero1: I think companies like Apple don't care about good reception because a lot of people will tolerate crappy reception. Apple got so much flack for their iPhone 4 reception problems but they're still selling them like weed in a fraternity. (That is to say the phones are selling well.) Plus, it's so…
@Akio Morita: Yahoo claims to have invented something similar in 2005. [www.theregister.co.uk]
@A Magician Named Gob: Then get it through your university for $60. Unless you go to Hollywood Upstairs Medical College - I'm pretty sure they don't participate in MS' student programs.
@seriously, saycarramrod: I've noticed that some programs like boxee and plex will "silence" growl while they're full screen. Might be an alternative to whatever you're using.
@ps61318: You're absolutely right. Chlorophyll doesn't have cell walls. It lives in plant cells and serves to absorb photons - that is to say light - and transfer electrons from a higher energy substrate to a lower energy product. The energy liberated from each transfer is used to make ATP and O2. (BS in Biochemistry…
@notverycreative: Yeah, I don't understand the big deal, either. Especially because FaceTime only works with WiFi. My computer has a camera, too, and it only works via WiFi. As implemented, FaceTime is nothing special. I would wager that google gets their video chat working on cellphones before Apple gets it working…
@big_dave501: I tried to parse through what you wrote but I'll give you a break since I think English isn't your first language. In short, you do get "your cut". You use these products for free - things like gmail, google voice, youtube, picasa, etc. cost you nothing to use. Their use is subsidized by advertisements.…
I don't see an easy way to rent shows...
Google TV seems more worthwhile to me - you can watch TV and browse/search simultaneously. I hope this box is hackable.
I want an android tablet, but I want one that's at least 1280 x [insert number here]. I want to be able to watch HD content that's not cut off somehow. That's one of the huge things that will keep me from looking at these products.
@Limbero: Top right looks like a power/battery... something. I'm going to say button. Top middle is a camera.
Now that you can call from gmail what is the advantage of this program? Just that you don't need gmail open?
