What’s sad is that they could have brought the entire heart of the Pokemon franchise to mobile and essentially made the game (minus a detailed storyline) to the real world, but instead they just made it a minigame grind.

You focus more on cashing in on the name of the franchise rather than making a good game.
Well if you’re gonna do a beta test, then be up front and call it a damn beta test. If you’re going to release a game that you know is going to have bugs and potential server issue, then be up front about it and call it “growing pains” for all I care. What you don’t do is stay silent when people are…
The fact that this is so transparently false makes me suspicious of everything else in this press release. If you think so little of your consumers that you’d tell this obvious of a lie over something so trivial, what else are you lying about?
Five pokeballs thrown at a Level 62 Pidgey last night, before the Pidgey ran away. Yes, since the Saturday update, catching is much harder.
Im only level 14 and noticed a night and day change immediately post update.
If you live in suburbs or rural areas this totally screws you. It’s 2.2km to my nearest pokestop. Used 8 pokeballs and 4 razzberries to catch a weedle yesterday.
Let's be real. The real reason this statement was sent out is in response to the absolute FLOOD of people asking for refunds on their in app purchases. Personally I spoke to Apple and waited 20 min to do so. The person I spoke with said they'd been hammered with calls regarding the game and the infamous no reply email…
Quite a non statement, statement. That essentially told us nothing. It was a statement for the sake of saying “see, we communicate!”
Award for the most vague statement of 2016
So, what was "confusing" about getting XP bonuses for the nice, great, and excellent throws? What was "confusing" about NOT having a low-level pokemon break out of 8 pokeballs, 5 great balls, and then running away? Not to mention the server issues were WORSE before the third party apps... Smacks of bull.
They don’t even bother addressing how difficult they’ve made it to catch flying poke since the update. I had a cp22 pidgey jump out of 2 curve balls yesterday. I’m level 15. I’m not going to waste my time throwing at any ‘trash’ pokemon anymore if they’re going to shake the ball... I’m running out of balls as-is. I’m…
Here’s a though. Make the game playable for the users you already have, if you’re having issues because of the large numbers of users adding more won’t help matters.
I wonder if they would have issued this statement if tons of people weren’t getting refunds on in game purchases.
That is like 80% PR bullshit, 15% trying to pretend to be human and likable, and 5% useful information but not really.
I haven’t been happy with the new ‘footstep’ changes, but their changes to catching pokemon is what’s really pissed me off. Feels like a blatant cash grab, to make it so much harder to catch pokemon, due to the lil buggers blocking/dodging and disappearing at a massively increased rate. Luckily there is a park near my…
I don’t want to be “that” guy but this feels like a forced message brought forth by the constant critique regarding the poor communication complaints and the mass refund requests. They have to start somewhere but I find this terribly vague and short.
- We have removed the ‘3-step’ display in order to improve upon the underlying design. The original feature, although enjoyed by many, was also confusing and did not meet our underlying product goals. We will keep you posted as we strive to improve this feature.
I’m happy they finally told us what’s up but they seem more concerned with expanding the game to other countries than fixing the game. It makes sense from a greedy and short-term point of view—grab money from the early adopters, have the user base drop off by keeping the game broken, then fix the game for the players…
Well I just won’t be playing till it is fixed. I don’t have the time with work and the ridiculous hot weather to be outside wandering around aimlessly hoping I get lucky. I don’t want to have a heat stroke thanks.
