My dad works for the CW (he cuts trailers for Riverdale) and when I showed him Your Name, he instantly suggested “this would make a great show on the CW.” His predictions were right about Virtual Reality and Smartphones becoming popular were true, so I guess his intuition strikes again.

You have to see it before anyone explains it to you, otherwise it would be spoiler territory. Let’s just say there’s a big plot twist that only works based on the location. You’ll understand why I can’t explain everything once you see it.

I can just use the Dolphin emulator with VR support and hook up my Oculus to play some Mario Kart in VR. MK: Double Dash in VR is insane when played in First Person.

I love this show, but the characters are drawn off model constantly and it’s really jarring for me.

Tim Willits was hired at id because he was a notable member of the Doom modding community. I’m sure he would have known about MP only levels for Doom. Not trying to criticize him, though.

Don’t really see a difference. A comparison would have been nice. Some shots in the trailer look stunning and others look rendered in Source Filmmaker. @1:35 it looks like a CG previsualization of a movie. Yikes.

I was about 3 years old when 9/11 happened and I don’t remember it. It feels weird to have been alive for a national crisis and not remember it.

There is! Black Mesa is a fan-made remake of Half Life 1 on the Source engine and it is fantastic! The Xen chapter isn’t finished yet, but the rest of the game is and it is as good (if not better) than the original game.

They need to create a new engine. That gameplay looks janky as hell. The memories of unfair deaths due to my character not reacting to my actions in DayZ are all coming back to me...*shudder*
