sorry no one has answered this for so long. the essay portion of house of leaves (the part zampano wrote) is intended to be a satire of academic papers the misinterpret things and dress up their lies in bullshit pretentious language to make it seem smart and not super dumb. part of understanding the book in my opinion…

i much prefer the graphic novel. the movie didint leave a strong impression on me, except for the twist at the end.
