WTH is with this perception that truck buyers mostly consist of this asshole group that people in the comments always reference? I’m a pretty well traveled guy and I live where the greatest % of the populace drives pickups and I’m here to tell you the brodozer, soot spewing crowd is a tiny sliver of pickup buyers.

100% this. The pickup market is arguably one of the first places to adopt fuel saving innovations. If you read the comments on Tacoma’s, the biggest complaint is fuel economy. The hybrid trucks and SUVs of yesteryear failed because they were expensive with effectively no fuel savings, not because of some specific bias

Yes and no.

Maverick ST Maverick ST Maverick ST.

This thing is gonna be an absolute fucking game changer. The Santa Cruz has the better truck specs, but the hybrid Maverick is HUGE between the price and mileage. I’m very, very impressed. When I was looking at Rangers before I got my Ram, this might have gotten me to downsize rather than upsize.

My top level comment was directed at someone like you. Please read it and understand you are part of the reason why we cannot have alternatives to crossover SUVs at the moment.

So to answer your question, me. I would. I’d take it on every residential, surface road, state road, and county road around me. It’ll be just

It’s actually hilarious when the tire blew out, agreed itself and then the wheel disintegrates before they can come to a stop on the freeway as long as no other cars are involved. I've watched this spectacle dozens of times in the last few years. I always smile knowingly.

Amen. I don't want them in my neighborhood hitting things they can't see.

LOL - just yesterday I saw some dumbass with a dually with tires sticking the best part of a foot out of the rear fenders hit a jersey barrier with it. Took out the tire and his fancy chrome wheel too.

Strong points. It makes sense to nip it in the bud. Other modifications — like lift kits on Jeeps — GOOD LUCK. That would upset a lot more people.

Seems perfectly clear to me, I’m also an engineer. Donks are level, lifted trucks are level, personally I think they both should be subject to inspection and height limits, as they have risks associated with stability, structural integrity and impacts with other vehicles bypass the bumper and enter decapitation

I did not say this was racially motivated.

Just a reminder that automotive journalists pretty much all think the Ridgeline is a great truck for most people (and it may be) and its averaging around 27,000 units a year.

This is going to flop in the US market. Who is the target market for this here?

Ken, I think you’re being too generous here. This vehicle would have been “just acceptable” 5 years ago.

How about a compromise?

There’s no excuse!

Of course you have zero range anxiety with an EV that could easily go 275-290 miles around town/city. I’m taking mine on a trip from New England to the Southeast this summer (about 1300 miles). I have no range anxiety, but I do have malfunctioning charger anxiety.

I always considered buying one of these...Risky Business.

People are going to say trucks, of course that’s true due to the huge profit magins in them.
