Bolt is definitely the EV I see the most of, after Tesla Model 3 and Tesla Model S.  I don’t think anything else is even close.  Leafs lose their range here in PHX so fast that nobody wants them.

I’m saying this isn’t a case of racial profiling because the trend is predominately popular among young white males. To call it profiling is to politicize the issue, assuming that the law is designed to target people of color when it clearly isn’t.  You’re assuming bad motivations exist among the lawmakers because

QuikTrip! Or, if I’m Texas, Buc-ee’s. In Utah, Maverik.

Myself included. Just please re-aim your headlights - it took me just a few minutes to adjust my FJ after the lift. It helps me and everyone around me.

I support the right of people of all races to make stupid decisions, but in this case it seems to be dominated by younger white males.  I do think the use of redneck was unfair on my part - rednecks usually need their trucks to do truck stuff.  Squatted trucks are for poser rednecks, and their new permed mullets

I will admit I did. I’ve been reading Jalopnik from the beginning, and the current tone just makes me sad. I’d go somewhere else, but the comments section just isn’t as good anywhere. And I really enjoy David’s writing.

I owe you an apology, I read the comments for a long time and conflated some of those with your article. What you wrote was very balanced and fair.

It’s basically a Bronco Sport with a bed, right? So it should be decent in a lot ways. The pictures look like it will actually have more room inside than the Ranger does, which has a terrible rear seat.

Totally agree. Other than the gorgeous Soul Red paint, I can’t figure out how this is even competitive with any other 2021/2022 EV for sale in the US right now.  The Mini has less range I guess, but it’s much quicker and $15k less. Even the Ioniq has better acceleration with similar range, for $12k less.

David, you’re better than this. Unless you think that lawmakers are going after redneck white kids in their 20's for some reason, there’s just no evidence at all that this is racially motivated. You’ve been spending too much time with your fellow writers who seem hellbent on turning every situation into a political

I might bite on this at $8500 if I had the room and a little extra time. Would rather have a GTV or GTV6, but I don’t think you can get a clean one for close to this money.

I think this will play out well for Hyundai, especially if they can keep it under $500. We got a cheap lease on a Kia Niro EV, in part because I was really curious about EV ownership. It’s only been a month, but so far it’s been much better than anticipated. Range anxiety is completely gone, since we just use it for

I once spent a winter in Omaha. I still shiver a bit when I think about it.

First, clearly ND. Couldn’t want it less.

I got my very well-optioned ‘21 Ram 1500 Laramie 4x4 for about $46k. A comparably equipped 3-series would probably cost about the same, and while it would handle corners better and get better MPG, is probably worse at most other things. And still wouldn’t have ventilated seats. Definitely wouldn’t tow my boat,

Nissan is currently advertising a $199 down/$199 a month lease on the Leaf, so you’re really only looking at a $5k discount. That’s less than what TrueCar says I should expect, and less than half of what it would take to get me to consider a Titan. Plus, they get that extra $800 pure profit doc fee.

One key side benefit to owning a boat - I have 45 gallons of safe fuel storage. Just fill up at the end of every outing.

As an owner of a FWD Niro EV, I can say that is the biggest/only thing I don’t like about it. Too much torque for the front wheels.  RWD would be better for sure. AWD is great too, just don’t need it where I live.

Can’t wait to see the Ioniq 7. I’d have this, too, but we use the 3rd row a lot and have been waiting for something that’s not a Model Y.

My dad had an ‘83 Cutlass Supreme Brougham that apparently had those fixed windows in the back, but I didn’t remember that and it definitely wasn’t a problem. Probably because that Olds was, to me, the nicest car on earth compared to his previous Fiesta, we lived in the Seattle area where 90 degrees was considered a
