Not even a little bit. Serena hasn’t come back from a set down in a Grand Slam final in 12 years. Osaka was playing out of her mind, she was going to win regardless of what Serena did. That said, she kept being agitated on purpose, nobody on the Open staff seemed to have the common sense to diffuse the situation.

The call was fucking absurd in a grand slam final. The call doesn’t get made in a 4th round either, it’s just Ramos is some kind of stickler paragon for the rules especially when he’s chairing elite players. He almost certainly got stuck onto the women’s final precisely because 1) they had a woman do the men’s final

The chair umpire has been a spoilsport for a while now agitating players for ages. They put him on a womens’ final probably because he’s had a history of pissing off so many men. I don’t think they anticipated this situation, but the fact that he didn’t have the common sense to defuse the situation, then the referee

yeah there’s zero doubt she threw that game following the penalty.

Clearly he got bad info from the Toronto front office clowns who are trying desperately to save face after inheriting a good team because they’re one-trick ponies who can’t manage a contender. Doesn’t hurt to grease the skids for their pals in Cleveland along the way. Fuck those guys.

I think she has a really good team around her and they’ve managed her so well.

She played so damn well. Would love to see her pull the upset, but Serena is playing gangbusters. Also would be good to see her get past Margaret Court already, Osaka has time.

eurohumping ftw

Agreed. Women’s matches could be longer.

He’s not wrong.

Players should have been able to transfer freely. If Jim your cubiclemate dies while you are working hard on TPS reports, you don’t just come back to work the next day like nothing happened and wear a ribbon to honor his fucking memory.

Cue the line of dudes who’ll respond to this and cape for rich owners because they can’t get past the idea that women should be paid for their work fairly.

Best MC in MLS.

Debate & speech programs also did this for a really long time, bringing kids who’d never come to their schools with the lure of scholarships and an ability to compete against major universities.

Yeah that pitch seemed to get away from him, but still...

And Bloomington. But yeah.

UGHH...These people and these apologies are straight out of a manual of the worst ways to apologize about anything.

I can’t believe they got some suburban city to build them an entire stadium. Went to O’Hare the other day from out of state and saw that ballpark.

Dollar Tree gonna sponsor MLS Cup at this rate.

I supported Depor before they got relegated. I guess I should pick a new team in the top division in anticipation of this.
