Last time I bought new was 1988.  Subaru Justy 4x4.  5 speed manual, button on shift nob initiated AWD.  359,000 miles, I sold it to a surly waitress who made enough money waiting tables at Applebee’s to drive it to California...

Pray god they bring the Polo.  Mit manual.  All the fun of an early Golf, perfected in a reasonable people mover box.

Had a recent discussion about motorcycles.  Smaller cc bikes are often more fun.  Conversely, wringing the life out of a willing auto can be a very good thing.

Reminds me of a tale from“somewhere in the 80's...”. I swapped a Vespa P200 for a very tidy R80G/S. We agreed to meet in Galax, VA. I had an epic 100 mile ride up the Blue Ridge Parkway on the Vespa.

The only “performance” group GM had (not counting the Corvette of course).  Now it’s just all “meh”

Fuel prices are already climbing, and Ford is killing it’s cars?  Trucks better get better MPG, but it’s good news they have invested in Rivian.

Epic good fun.  This is what memories are made of... and all the better in a funky old Jeep.

I will believe it when I see it.  VW has been teasing us with trucks since, well, the 80's.  Having worked for ‘em, they are kinda brain dead in the USA.

$70k? Priced any new pickups lately? Most are at least that if they are 4x4... and none of them get the mileage or have the capabilities of the Rivian.

Rivian made the right call.  Better to go with anyone other than GM.

As I hung out in euro bike shops in the 70's and 80's, weight wins when you don’t have HP.  Pull out the back seats, put in lightweight carbon fiber fronts, etc.  A 4 banger is pretty well enough for 90% of the herd.

Rivian, no question.  Truck solves three problems and replaces three vehicles for me - and I can put a motorcycle in the back.

I’d throw three large at that.  Heck, the ad even said it had “rear” Lloyd rear floor mats... boom, done.

Yup, my Audi TT is German... uh huh, nope. Romanian or Hungarian. I forget.

Saw it on Reddit this morning; apparently the PoPo in question had never ridden a motorcycle before.  Not too smart.

Bingo. I think when Alta had their page up, they had a guy hooning and ripping it hard - while golfers placidly played their way down the runway adjacent.

Those shots look like another ford that looks like a slab side SUV... name escapes me...

Hmm. New GM, same old blunders.  I just hope to hell they get the mid engine Corvette right.

When I was a VW sales weasel, I had a customer who had to have a GLI with a manual.  She put down her deposit and waited and waited and waited... finally getting it.  Two car seats in the back, 15 year old gawky kid in the front, truck full.  She chirped it on the way out.

$50k for a pickup?  Try adding another $10-20k.  The real price is often more when you throw in a trade... that hasn’t been paid off.  No wonder so many people are 3 months behind in their vehicle payments.
