But was VW Group telling us the truth about their lap time?

Maybe this is a stupid question...
Why does the pedal configuration in the M2 have room for a clutch pedal in the “flappy gearbox” model?

“With 3,296 lbs for the M2 and about 3,100 lbs for the Cayman GT4, the M2 clearly loses the loss weight challenge.” Read more

In the real world? I’ve owned both and I remember when Porsche had crap interiors. Though, they’ve gotten much better lately. No idea where you see BMW interiors as horrendous. I’d take a BMW 7 series interior over anything Porsche makes (I’ve driven them all, though, they are two different style cars of course). The Read more

Indeed.

Superior motor (V8 wins every time, plus it sounds amazing), truly track ready (these are both touring cars by comparison)... Muscle beats import.

Are you sure about that GT4 weight? Most sites list that at 2955 lbs, not 3100. Read more

Looks like you left out about $17,000 in options! So we were forced to put these blank buttons right where you will see them every day, so you will be reminded how poor you are.

A Boxster 2.7L PDK would eat the lunch of this M2 around any track, Laguna Seca for instance. 2900 pounds and mid engine, far better brakes, far more traction, far more tire, etc. Comparing this chassis to a $100k GT4 is beyond absurd.

I think the M2 would slot better against a Cayman GTS. Much more similar in terms of performance spec, there would have the be an M2 CSL to compete with the GT4.

The M2 has a back seat. So it’s a completely reasonable alternative to a mini-van for couples with less than three kids. Read more

The real difference here is that you have a better shot of getting an M2 than you do at getting a GT4 regardless of price.

M2 looks great. That or a C63 turbo...need FI for high altitude so I don’t lose so much pow’a, otherwise I’d buy last MY C63 & pocket the extra cash

I’m sorry but the Porsche wins in the looks department. It’s quite obvious the difference between and Cayman and the GT4. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of BMW as they all look similar.....

I think the Cayman GT4 is more comparable to the upcoming M4 GTS.

Only difference is: you can actually find and buy the M2 at MSRP.
