My only question is why does Kirsten Dunst sound like she’s on 10 or 12 valium?

As much as I will miss Padma, I couldn’t agree more about Gail. She has the expertise, the familiarity and most importantly the personality to make me want to see more of her. It’s Gail. Gail for days.
I came here to write this—-THANK YOU. Not that it’s ever OK, but you play stupid games... Very little sympathy for that particular enabler.
I usually love this kind of thing and I’ll excuse some silliness, but I turned it off after 10 minutes. It’s exactly as bad as it sounds.
Re: “weirdly, tied the expiration of this new state of affairs to the lifespans of various members of the UK’s royal family.” This is actually a common practice in contract law. The thinking is that the UK is more likely than any other “kingdom” maintain its monarchy in perpetuity even as its actual governing power…
I think (hope) people are finally tiring of the constant onslaught of Marvel movies. I’m with Scorsese: It ain’t cinema. I can’t wait to move on from them.
I can’t believe “Feed the Birds” isn’t on this list. I also can’t believe “Kiss the Girl” isn’t higher up. Like, much higher.
Now if only Sony would release the stranglehold and finally let PC players have a go at it.
He always thinks his most recent movie is his best. He did this with Inglorious Basterds, which is ... definitely not his best.
Re: Alien and raining in the Nostromo: It’s the same thing that happens in the Pantheon. The structure is so large and shaped in a way that lends itself to creating its own microclimate (and basically its own weather).
It’s embarrassing.
I think the fit of his suit is beyond reality in the painting, but why is he posing next to Rachel Weisz?
Wait, so Biden not only believes he’ll win the nomination, not to mention re-election, he also believes he and the turtle will both live long enough to carry out this half-brained plan? Biden, get back on your bike and ride away. That turtle bites.
All of these are good rules, and yet I see people break almost all of them (at least a handful) on each flight I take.
I’m surprised no one mentioned one of his few leading roles, Unlawful Entry. It isn’t a great movie, but it does have a great cast (super-underrated Madeleine Stowe and Kurt Russell play a married couple who consult Liotta’s obsessed-cop character for home security, and he becomes obsessed with the wife). It’s a fun…
I think the High Line is way, way overrated. It’s ungodly crowded and not that spectacular.
For some reason I can’t stand him (maybe it’s his all-things-to-all-people, smarmy, Mr. Broadway shtick), and I’m glad to see some of his seemingly impenetrable facade start to crack.
Even though it isn’t my favorite of his movies (Birth is one of the most underrated films I’ve ever seen), Under the Skin would be welcome on this list.
This is the best response to this question I’ve seen yet. I agree you’re probably right.
What a good list. I expected Under the Skin (which I thought was just OK), but good on you for including Birth, which I think was sorely misunderstood upon release. It’s a beautiful, sad movie.
