This was going on for years and now after i found this and participated for 3 or 4 times, it gets closed? There is only one logical explanation:

Aw, I haz a sad now. This was one of my routine stops on Saturday/Sunday, even though I never participated. Seeing all the fun ‘shops and the goofy culture around them has been a highlight of my weekend since forever. Just like Highlight Reel was.

Hwhaaaat? Sounds like someone has lost his/her mind. Nothing will be the most successful all the time, but most good stuff will be successful most of the time. I wonder how “successful” is measured by the owners (I’ve forgotten the name).

No skills? That’s no excuse. I didn’t have any skills either but it looked so fun that I just HAD to try and before I knew it I managed to be among the runner-ups, several times even!

How about less frequent ones for big gaming news. For example, when the sequel to sonic comes out.

My speculation: Not enough page views (people seeing ads) compared to hosting the base-64 encoded images. Generally, large images encoded in base 64 end up being 1/3 larger in file size compared to just serving the binary file.

The thing is, I was on board with Patricia’s manifesto. It gave me hope that there’d be more meaningful content than endless Twitch drama and clickbait slideshows of expensive Pokémon cards - but stuff like this is meaningful too.
