if ever there is a time and place to just shut up and let people be, it’s when they’re grieving someone they loved.

I just had a friend post some sanctimonious status about how more homeless people die every year than celebrities so we should all shut the fuck up. Because it’s impossible to care about more than one thing at a time.  

I have been expecting it, but I’m still profoundly sad that it’s true.

I’m exactly the same - whilst the other deaths have been sad, this one has had me in floods of tears. No one has the right to dictate whether you can mourn someone or not.

I hate when people do this. Just the other day I almost unfriended a couple of folks who took George Michael’s death (which hit me hard as a former 80's teen) to be smug about shitty superficial pop music. I’ve been upset and sad about a bunch of the celebrity deaths this year, but this is the first time I’ve been just straight up sobbing. I just don’t want this to be true.
