I had forgotten about this until this picture. I loathe this wing. To me it always looked like a popped collar from behind. It’s the kind of thing that screams, “ No one should have a popped collar, ever. And the car who has the least rights ever to have a popped collar, now has one.” It’s just trying way too hard.
GM teased such a thing, and then said “oh, it’s only an engineering exercise.” Well, GM, slap a price tag on it and put it in the catalog.
I keep telling people that Ford should make a 4 door RWD sedan derived from the Mustang and call it the Falcon. Nobody ever listens....
Too close to the Mercury Grand Marquis, which were old people cars. Says so right in the name: GRAND MA-rquis
Username checks out.
This is more idiotic than changing the Taurus to 500. Many people are not going to buy this because it’s not “a real Mustang” even though this may be the exact car they’re looking for. Then Ford will conclude that it’s a bad car even though the name is what is killing it.
yeah, there you go.
Still too many vowels, doesn’t look like an Ikea model name.
The mass shutting down of these GMG sites is very disheartening to me. I spend most of my internet news time on GMG sites that, so far, are still in operation, but I always enjoyed the content that I wandered into — here and in other lands that are now sinking into the ocean.
Were I a millionaire who could bear the…
I’m highly suspect of that one in the electric Mustang though. If you have 1000 lb-ft of torque, which in an electric setup means low end starting at 0 RPM, why the hell do you need 6 gears? How are they spaced, gearing wise? The Taycan only has 2 gears, in a heavy car, and only on the rear. Koenigsegg Regera has only…
I am actually imagining a single “robot”. As in one unit with many arms/components. It would fold up into a car size sled to fit on the team’s transporter, then unfold when you place it out on pit lane. It has a platform that you drive up on that jacks the car up and swaps the battery pack, while simultaneously eight…
Currently old ALMS is IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship. It’s good racing... and super easy to follow because they post full race broadcasts to YouTube. Watch them in the background at work if you have a desk job.
Was also my first thought. More mini-muscle/rally car wars!
That Seriously is impressive. I think my record is 127.
TIL! That can’t be a coincidence right?
Porsche flat 6's do come in boxer configuration, according to Porsche:
I think the point is that it is like having pit access at a road course, and all the drivers and sponsors are there and accessible BECAUSE tech and contingency are going on, and you may get to hear the engines up close if the line of vehicles has to move. For a spectator, contingency itself is not the point, its just…
Except one of the Regera’s electric motors is on the engine side of the torque converter, and can be used as a generator when peak power is not being asked for. Less energy lost than you might think.
I see it now, there’s no depth to it..... weird.
