The French (or many of them) still believe that Napoleon won at Waterloo. Or that Napoleon was somehow “robbed” of a deserved victory. I’m guessing Scott’s movie does not share that view. And sorry, but as much as I love the French (and don’t especially like Scott), but he’s right.

I guess Basanti a very different sensibility when it comes to movies. For me, the human stuff is always more interesting than the CGI. It seems to me that if the monsters are more interesting than the people, you’ve made a bad movie.

I was just about to start watching “The Peripheral” so I guess I’m glad this news broke today and saved me the eventual frustration.

“Awakenings” and “The Irishman” don’t belong in the top 10 ahead of either “Midnight Run” or “Casino.” And I love “Cop Land” but DeNiro’s performance barely cracks the top 10 in that movie (Stallone, Keitel, Liotta, Moriarty, Rappaport, Sciorra, Falco, Spencer....)

No Nick Frost, no credibility.

Either “Shaun” or even better “Hot Fuzz.”
