I thought you were refering to the will they-won’t they romantic thing, which is surely way older and tireder than mockumentary.
I don’t even think of mockumentary as a conceit. It’s more a genre, like workplace comedy.

Trolling, obviously.
No Die Hard, no Lethal Weapon.
This was the movie I chose for my first date with the woman who eventually became my wife. (I had really enjoyed “King of New York.”)
Make of that what you will.
Are the first 2 available anywhere?
Elon Musk’s product is Twitter users.
Elon Musk’s best-selling products are blue checkmark users.
The fact that he thinks he can charge his products money in order to sell them to advertisers/data miners is... bizarre.
I edited the above post 3 times to get the opening cut and paste to show up in the right order, but something is hinky
“HBO just couldn’t make the series work without having something to base it on”
It’s fine to adopt that philosophy for yourself.
It’s less fine to demand it of other people so you can continue to insult and belittle them with impunity.
I am not sure how to feel about that.
I know this is conventional wisdom, but Thief is his best. But Freebie and the Bean deserves some respect: there’s a case to be made that it’s the furst real buddy cop movie (I know some people credit Stray Dogs, but Freebie had the humor we’ve come to expect as an essential ingredient in the format).
Also, as sad as…
Anthony Starr deserves something. Homelander is a terrific, multidimensional villain and Starr captures the selfishness, the pettiness, the insecurity, the incoherent rage -- all without turing it into an obvious Trump impersonation.
“Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man” is an objectively terrible movie that I watch once every 18 months or so and always kind of enjoy.
“Double Jeopardy” is a ridiculous piece of trash that does not understand the title concept or, as far as I can tell, any aspect of the American justice system.
Camren Bicondova hands down. The relationship between her Selena Kyle and the young Bruce Wayne in Gotham was the most complex, most emotionally resonant of any screen CatBat.
My wife just rewatched Will & Grace and jesus christ that over-insistent, dissonant piano noise.
Raymond and his mother (from “everybody loves....”)
There are Snyder Bros on Twitter? I assumed they had all moved to Parler.
I became quite fond of Moira Kelly at The Cutting Edge and Chapin. I saw her in some post-apocalyptic movie with Cuba Gooding, and then... not sure what happened after that (though I assume it was some variation of what happens to most attractive 20-something acresses).
Of all the Robert Crais novels Hostage is the last one I would have turned into a movie.
Also, given that Reacher is now a hit, maybe Prime could take a look at Elvis Cole/Joe Pike?
Pro-tip: There’s no way to argue rationally with a crazy person.
Smug is not a disqualifier. I mean I know people who still love The West Wing, which was wall-t0-wall smug for what, 30 or 40 seasons.
