I almost never listen to live episodes of podcasts for those very reasons. I happened to be there when they did the Can't Stop the Music recording, and so that ended up being the extent of my exposure to both Cameron Esposito and live episodes of HDTGM in general. I found it very middling.

Pretty much every episode of HDTGM is fun to listen to because of the great hang out vibe it has. It always comes off as the main three and their guest just enjoying each others company and snarking on movies. Even if I don't find an episode laugh out loud funny, I always feel good when I listen to it.
