having been one in the past, at least with small arms ammo, the unit weapons custodian knows exactly what ammo they have, what is good, what is bad what is going out of date code soon.
the problem is, all this data is kept on paper forms in individual units and rolling that up to higher echelons just doesn't happen.
I'll be honest man, there is a ton of anxiety going into the flight. However, once you sit down and get strapped into the jet, it all fades. I have been lucky enough to do this twice now, and both times all the stress went away.
What's not cool about it? I like the concept, this would be even cooler with Europe over the ages - think of all the territory changes. Rome, Byzantine Empire, Ottoman Empire, the various colonial powers, Austria-Hungary, Nazi Germany, etc.
