was honestly very close to getting one of these when a dealership in Long Island had a dozen and was offering some amazing deals. Infotainment kept me from pulling the trigger. Really disappointed that opportunity will never come up again :(

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, etc.

I am all for wagons but I am not at all sad to see this one go. 2 years ago we were looking to replace our 3 series sedan and we made our mind up that the Jag was right for us. Beautiful looks and right in the middle of our price range. First test drive was a bust: the car rode horribly on NYC’s rough streets (the 3

I heavily considered a Sportbrake but the interior was just so woefully awful for a $70k car (especially compared to direct competitors from Mercedes and Audi). What’s annoying is this facelift seems to address a lot of the interior issues and tidy up the exterior of an already good looking car.

I think the statistics are that people are generally enduring longer (duration, at least) and more congested commutes now than they were 20 years ago, let alone 30-40 years ago. There are a lot of people who are not inclined to work the clutch for 45 minutes of stop and go traffic twice a day.

You hit on another core of manual drivers. Keeping cars for far longer than the average consumer. Perhaps it’s due to frugality, or understanding financials but it’s a fairly consistent trait. Those once-every-fifteen-year car purchases aren’t keeping anyone in business.

This is truth. That breed is me, but you can’t really make an argument based on reliability, efficiency or speed any more. Personally, aside from the engagement point, I like being able to bump-start a car, and it’s a great anti-theft device for a big fraction of potential car thieves.

Of course they are killing the Fit. It’s a car that fills the needs of 94.3% of America so no one is buying it. As for getting rid of the Accord manual... Eff everyone who talks the talk but doesn’t buy manual transmissions.

I’ve read dozens of stories you’ve written about the intricacies of automotive lighting in eastern european sub compacts.

240s are like cockroaches here in Brooklyn—they’re ugly, everywhere, and you can’t kill ‘em

Frankly, your statement above, along with all your other writings on unions, leads me to believe that there is no argument anyone could make that could away you. You’ve made up your mind, and shut down any objectivity regarding the subject.

Here’s the thing: Unions no longer have the power that they say they have to protect the workers. We have employment laws that are in place to protect employees, and we have OSHA that ensure the workers’ safety. Unions aren’t doing anything other than skimming money off of the members’ paychecks. They offer shitty

Ok, Boomer

Look at Route 66 warranties from Penfed or a local credit union if you get the BMW instead of CPO. They exclude all Alfa’s but BMW is covered. I bought my policy for $3500 and it covers mine til 120k miles and 8 years from the day I bought the policy.

When did he say he was unemployed?

I’m 26 and I lease a Giulia in NYC. I wouldn’t own this car beyond 2-3 years unless it was a weekend driver Quadrifoglio. Do not buy one. I can see this thing becoming a pain in the ass as it ages.

BMW’s red interiors are excellent. I had an ‘07 335 with the red and LOVED it.

Starred because I love that red interior too.
