Why did Alfa Romeo fail? Because people who buy luxury crossovers don’t want a headache. That’s why the Lexus RX350 outsells its nearest competitor by literally double. A few of you clowned on me at the Jalopnik meetup in Austin because I rolled up looking like a total Karen in a Mall Crawler Champagne RX350, but

While I’m sure brand recognition had some impact to its sales, the fact that almost every initial review had serious software issues was likely a bigger driver. If you’re reintroducing your vehicle to a major market, it needs to at least function for the reviews.

I mean it’s pretty obvious:

Any personal experience? I bet none...

My wife wouldn’t have said “fine”.  I’m thinking another “f” word...

Guaranteed that cologne and that beer are the same product in different packages.

I had a buddy some years back who rode and he ended up at a Harley event just wearing normal street clothes and said he got all kinds of shit. His reply was “I don’t want to dress like I’m in the Village People”. Almost got in several fights, lol.

Something about the fact that HD’s sales force are mostly white, middle aged men that look to be 5 seconds away from calling someone a snowflake or the N word and I just have a hard time seeing “Millennials” even stepping foot into a Harley dealership.

You’d have SO much fun with the Giulia. And from what I see around forums and whatnot, 2018-up are as reliable as anything else out there. God what a blast they are...

Not just wealthy--this is how middle class people can save for retirement, be frugal but smart with spending habits and not have needless debt. I know a lot of people pan Dave Ramsey, but he rails incessantly about buying new. It truly is one of the worst personal finance actions to do.

The 440 Gran Coupe is the the ultimate IMO. Technically bough mine new but it was a BMW corporate car with some miles on it, so I saved close to $20k off sticker. It’s not hard to get a fantastic car for a good price if you’re willing to be flexible.

I can afford to buy the cars I want new. However, I buy used because I don’t see the point of a $500 car payment.

Yup, right in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. There we go, the pics are attaching now.

You’ve managed to find the only car that the current NY design plates look good on.

“One or two people say that this is the exact [Niva] that their grandfather had.” Another guy was once “almost overwhelmed to tears” by the car.

I’ve shared my Lada experience around here before, but it seem appropriate to mention again here.

This is something I've always wondered about but never cared about to look into. Thanks Andrew!

I still have my first car, a 1978 Toyota Corolla 2 door.

This is almost a carbon-copy of my dad’s story.

He was given his 1927 Model T as a graduation present in 1946 from the town doctor who he worked for throughout high school. She felt that dad needed to have a car to drive to and from college (and to eventually take his lady-friend, my mother, on their first date.)
