To be fair, they only went back to Singer (as director at least) when Vaughn dropped out of DOFP of his own accord. Also Singer was already back as a producer on First Class. The only X-Men movie Singer had nothing to do with was 3.

To be fair, nobody believes Aristotle to be the literal son of God or to have risen from the dead. He's just a guy with good ideas. The standard of proof doesn't need to be quite so high.

Would probably have worked better if the final scene of the film was Alfred having cracked the encryption on the drive (because Alfred) and revealing the other three to Bats and WW. The way it happened in the middle was just… strange. It was like a commercial break.

I thought the same about that Batman fight. I was sure it would be a first half moment, and was a little bummed when I realized I had already seen a key sequence from late in the film. Not that it gave away why the scene happened, but still.

That would have been better than Supes referring to his mother by her first name (who does that… ever??) being a critical plot point. Holy fuck. I actually enjoyed this movie, but that should never have been anything but a throwaway joke, not a crucial dramatic moment.

It crushes me that the same studio that put out those animated shows and movies apparently has no idea how to do a live action Superman. Like… ffs… the template is right there.

…because it's a twist on the notion that men hire hot and unqualified secretaries?

I think he'd be better than most of the guys on this list.

He's not the greatest actor from what I've seen, but he's absolutely a dead ringer for young Harrison Ford. I'm sure with the right direction he could nail it. And at least he wouldn't have any of the baggage that somebody like Miles Teller or Dave Franco would have. Seems like a no brainer to me.

That god damn lucky son of a bitch. What's worse is that I actually enjoy him in most roles. I can't even hate him.

If you're willing to accept the idea of them planting evidence, then is it really a reach to think that they'd know to plant a bullet shot from the same gun he owned? They had his gun in police possession as evidence for several months before the mystery bullet turned up. The fact that it matches isn't any more

I liked Driver in the role. He conveyed all of the mixed emotions better than they were ever shown in the prequels. But yeah, he doesn't look at all like either of his 'parents'.

That standoff scene felt lifted from the Abrams Trek films. Seemed out of place to me, but I get that they wanted to bring some of the trash compactor / rancor vibe back into the series with the monsters.

God Hayden Christensen. He's a very decent actor, but he was just so wrong for what the Anakin character needed. There is not an ounce of believable menace in him.

I actually hated when those two showed up. It's totally nitpicking, but it took me out of the movie. I just thought "Oh god damn it Abrams" as soon as I saw them.

That one was SO character appropriate.

I'd wager he only agreed to come back if they killed him off. He apparently begged Lucas to kill him in Jedi to add some tragedy to the film.

Yeah, not to say that there are none whatsoever in the other films. The prequels had their share as well. It was just such an out of the blue visual moment. It was like suddenly we were in a Lord of the Rings movie.

This was one of my frustrations with the film (which I largely really enjoyed, but didn't quite love). The original trilogy and even the prequel trilogy (or the first two anyway) both had a very restrained and simple cinematic style. This film just didn't. The camera work was much more dynamic, with larger, faster,

They already did that with Jaws 2, Jaws 3(D), and Jaws: The Revenge
