I wasn’t making an anti-union argument. The issue is, even with the raises at the non-American OEM’s, they still have a (sometimes significant) competitive wage/labor cost advantage to the American OEM’s. And people aren’t just going to beat feet and go to a UAW shop because they are (generally speaking)

I still chuckle that Fain and the UAW thought this new deal with the Big 3 was going to finally help it make inroads into the Japanese/Euro automakers.

Depends how you define oomph I guess. My Bolt EUV has more “oomph” than any V6 I’ve ever driven, and is overall more fun to drive.

Don’t forget that it should also cost under $20k.

Of all the bumper stickers you can slap on a car, I think political stickers are the ones I struggle to understand the most. Why are people so willing make themselves the potential target of some idiot who doesn’t agree with you? Like I get it, you are desperate for a attention, but there has to be a better way.

Maintaining a strong share price keeps financing open for future projects (in theory).

By indirectly I mean people who hold funds run by those institutions. For example, Vanguard is a huge holder of GM stock. GM stock is held in all three of the US’s largest stock funds.

I don’t understand why we keep adding nannies instead of enforcing and increasing the penalties for laws that already exist. Increase driver training requirements, increase fines, decrease number of second chances, etc.

I understand your sentiment in this post, but there can (and should) be a balance between a company offering dividends and stock growth, and paying their employees fairly. There are millions of normal middle class Americans who are indirectly investors in GM who benefit from the growth and dividends.

But wouldn’t people ask about the effort either way? Like if you show up to running events, do people not talk to you about running until they see your bumper magnet? Do you just lean on your car and wait for someone to see your 26.2 sticker so they will engage with you?

I would actually expand the Trumper Sticker vehicles to any car with the rear covered in bumper stickers. Special hatred goes out to people that have 13.1 or 26.2 stickers. Are you driving around hoping that when you stop, someone will randomly come up to you and start talking about marathon running?

Elon would close all his American factories before he lets the UAW in the door, so that’s not happening.

People always give me the side eye when I tell them I refuse to use these services because they treat their “employees” like shit. And because they treat their “employees” like shit, their “employees” in turn treat the restaurant staffs like shit. I don’t really care if your Doordash order has a time limit on

To be clear, I know it’s obviously not a realistic solution. But if airlines really wanted to speed up boarding and disembarking, this would be the best way to do it.

The best solution would be to eliminate overhead storage entirely.  Anything bigger than a backpack that won’t fit under the seat in front of you goes to checked luggage.

But this is the problem. The tax credit is designed to incentivize products produced in the US by US workers (not just from American brands). But American’s don’t give two shits about buying from American workers, we only care about cost at the expense of everything else.

I guess what I meant by last possible second is when enough crops start to dry up that we don’t have ample food sources, cities start to experience massive flooding, power grids start failing en masse and storms start killing tens of thousands of people each year.

Why would they pull the plug? Tesla’s early lifecycle sales are all about vanity and nothing is going to get you more attention than driving around in a Cybertruck. People are going to line up to get these because people are desperate for attention.  It’s a great sales strategy for Tesla.

America says it cares about a lot of things. But when those “things” become realities, and Americans have to change their lifestyle, we stop caring.

The best part is, Trump is now leading Biden in polls in every single swing state except Wisconsin. So not only are those folks not under arrest, but Trump almost assuredly will not be convicted of a crime AND is on track to be the next president of the US... again.
