Shades of Asma al-Assad...
The electoral college won’t officially vote until December 19th. I know they will vote for him, but a part of me has to hope they won’t.
I know the chances are slim, but is this a turning point? Is this where his followers start to turn against him?
Agreed. Human suffering is something we should never laugh at or mock.
Pence will be our defacto president as is. He’s a monster, but his views are so extreme (even for some conservatives), I think he’s popularity will tumble fast once he is being more closely scrutinized.
My anxiety is through the roof and I haven’t eaten a normal meal since the election, but I am here for the public humiliation of Chris Christie. It is sustaining me.
I want to be able to look at this as a step in the right direction, but it’s not, so I can’t.
Sorry to be that person, but MCA died in 2012, not 2013.
That’s my plan as well.
I’m a government research scientist in New York State. Me and my coworkers have spent the past several days having this conversion. We are so grateful to be in such a progressive state right now, but the potential of redirecting funds due to less federal money (many of our grants are CDC and NHTSA) coming in has us…
I really think it’s worth noting that while it’s horrifying that these racists/sexists/xenophobes are a thing, there are so many Americans who are standing up and not allowing this to become a new normal. This series is a great example of that, as well as the safety pin movement, Pantsuit Nation, state hotlines being…
I have hope this could still potentially cause voters to turn on the Republicans. I think Ryan’s plan hasn’t really been picked up by the masses yet, since so much attention is still being paid to the insanity of this election.
I’m so on board with the dementia theory. He was always brash, but for the past few years, it’s been on another level. Add in Ivana’s comment about how he only sleeps three hours a night and it’s clear something is very, very wrong.
Yes - excellent work from Jezebel this week. These posts, and the smart/funny/kind comments have truly made this site a safe haven in this new, terrifying time.
He’s filling the cabinet with swamp people.
Some quick Googling gave me this:
I just posed the same question in another thread. If they haven’t been sworn in, is Pence actually the default?
Pence is terrifying in so many ways, but he at least knows things, like what the Constitution is. Before they were running mates, he did say that the Muslim ban was unconstitutional*.
At this point, I’m starting to question whether or not he makes it to the ingauration. Between the sudden shock having to do this very hard transition work, realizing that winning doesn’t mean he can now say/tweet whatever he wants without being overruled by those surrounding him, and the gearing up of the Trump U…
