This judge doesn’t think sexual violence against women is a serious enough offense that it should ruin one’s (re: the perpetrator’s) life. That’s all I can take away from his response. P.O.S.

I fear you are exactly right. The change in him will be to become more calculating not to become repentant.

Yes, it’s an outrageous statement. He hasn’t admitted any culpability therefore it’s easy to conclude that he WOULD do it again as he doesn’t see that he did anything wrong. He is most definitely a danger to society and likely to re-offend. This judge is as bad as the rapist.

These two playing romantic leads opposite each other was one of the worst casting mistakes I can think of. I loved the book, but the movie made me uncomfortable; Charlize looked like she was getting it on with the little kid she was babysitting. I couldn’t stand it.
