I distinctly remember reading Memoirs of a Geshia and thinking, “How are they going to find someone to fit this description? They’re never going to find someone to play Hatsumomo.”

Oh My God are you serious???....WOW.
Dear God. YES.
I literally just posted that she was how I realized I liked women!
Literally about to say that!!
The fear of having an open and honest conversation about racism and privilege is more detrimental to power than almost anything else.
I just watched this sketch based on this comment and had to cover my mouth from laughing out loud at my desk. Thank you!
I can think of a whole litany of ways this show isn’t for you, sis.
Slow clap.
Perhaps this refrain has become cliche because it can be asked so often. As a POC it gets tiring being offered up things to consume (movies, TV etc) that have zero people of color. Why is it unacceptable to ask why this is so often the case?
I don’t know why but this really scared me just now! LOL
YES! Thank you for saying this. A few years back they brought in the moms and one of the designers made a fellow contestant’s mother cry! He was so rude. I would have gone home that day. I don’t know how that designer dealt with it. I’ve never hit anyone in my life and if that was my mom I would have punched them in…
This made fruit punch come out of my nose. LOL, so true.
I remember this!!!! He was so rude! He kept saying, “My model has huge boobs. I don’t know what I’m going to do with them...UGH.” And she was literally maybe a B cup...
Did....did she marry him?
UGH NO ONE EVER GETS MY CLONE HIGH REFERENCES!
