Game journalists get wined and dined by publishers all the time. This is nothing new. Also, Famitsu has only given out a dozen perfect scores since it was published. Most other publications and sites have given out more perfect scores than that.

Final Fantasy XI was the no 1 MMO for a good while before WoW came along. The FF MMOs will always be no 1 in Japan and that seems to be their main target. Looks good. Looks very much like the game. I'm not sure why people are complaining about the hand to hand combat since his gun was clearly knocked out of his hand. Plus punching a giant hairy bug ape so hard it pukes is much manlier than just shooting it.
