Dude! This one is cool though, totally worth it! Even though I get nothing out of it I sincerely hope you’ll reconsider, seems like it would bring you much joy, and it looks so darn cool and special.

You will never forget about this truck and will always regret not buying it.
Sure, that could maybe work when dealing with a single suspect. But in a house with 2 kids and a teenager, the rules will only be recognized while I’m in visual contact with them. As long as they can point the finger at another person, and I have no difinitive way of proving who took what, they will continue to take…
Ever had that “discussion”? It’s easier on the relationship to hide the snacks.
except for when that talk has happened multiple times, and the other part still eats your snacks and leftovers without asking.
This. It’s almost a unicorn. It’s exactly what you should have. Dump something else. Rent space in a storage yard. Don’t let this one get away.
This. It seems like a perfectly manageable example of one of the earliest Jeeps.
Its because its in too good a shape. No seriously. I don’t get it. So you were eager and happy to buy a whole bunch of junker super common XJ’s and stuff but not this? If it were me I would buy this, sell literally everything else you have except your daily driver and restore this one. It looks to be in pretty good…
It’s me, the hypothetical person who doesn’t exist.
Sales were decreasing before they started limiting configurations. It was going away no matter what, Honda just delayed it for a while by trying to make it as cost effective as possible.
Yep. If there are only 4 sticks between the Bay Area, Greater LA and San Diego and Phoenix metros I question how Honda expected anyone to buy them.
I actually tried to buy a new Accord with a manual and the sales people were so clueless I gave up after visiting 5(!) dealerships.
Part of the problem for me was the Accord manual was limited to one configuration, ie smallest engine, no options, etc. If they offered it in more trim levels then maybe. That is like posting a car worth 5k for 15k and then saying “Sorry honey, I did list it but no one wanted it. Guess I will keep it around.”
I’m in Newport Beach. There are (according to Autotrader) 4 new manual Accords within 500 miles of me and they are all 1.5s. Same old BS, nobody buys them because no one will stock them. I’m not driving 500 fucking miles to buy an Accord.
SoCal res here too. Toyota is also having trouble pushing manuals. I bought my Corolla hatch with a stick and it was the only one in the area at the time.
If the take rate really IS 1%, you clearly don’t. Granted I never shopped them seriously, but I def. checked on them regularly.
LOL, I’m in coastal SoCal and last I checked there wasn’t one within 200 miles of me. Well, 2.0 anyway.
A bad decision was already made. Have you seen the paint job on that Viper?
Gah. This whole thing is dark af. I really hope my instincts are wrong and that these dudes (and anyone who associates with them) come out of this ok. I can’t think of a bigger social pressure cooker though. Imagine the things your dumbest friends would have done for “content” as this age.
Exactly. Also, how badly were they fleeced on this by the realtors? It just makes me feel bad for them, like watching the first half of a “fail” video. Here’s hoping when they go MC Hammer it doesn’t break the poor boys’ souls.
