Hm, yeah, I think we’re on the same boat, and I’m just horrible at expressing my thoughts. I personally wasn’t “let down” (sorry, I think I overused that phrase). I didn’t dislike the resolution to the TFA set-up “questions.” On my first viewing, I was unsure of how to feel about TLJ, because I was expecting answers.…

I dislike how JJ often sets up his mystery boxes without knowing what’s going to be in them. The hype built up often makes the let-down that much worse. And judging by how they let Rian hand-wave most of the “mysteries” established by TFA, I figure JJ didn’t have a plan here as well, so I’m glad the letdown came in…
