“There has to be a way I can make a quick buck on this. Can we double-bill Medicare for this?”

Thank you so much for continuing to dig and report on this. I am a multi generation Floridian and what’s happening here is a legit disaster that no one seems to care about. I know Florida is great fuel for joke and stories, and rightly so. Its fucking crazy here. But it is also, undoubtedly, one of the most beautiful

Yeah, this was cutting-edge technology... in 1962.

When a man who spent the best years of his life being protected by the Pouncey brothers and “slinging” passes to Aaron Hernandez and Percy Harvin refuses to get roped into your dumpster fire, where exactly do you go from there?

That’s a huge generalization and oversimplification in the first place, but there’s a great book that addresses your point. It’s a really eye-opening read: Scarcity: why having too little means so much. It discusses decision-making (and other behaviors) when you have limited resources (both time and money). Side note:

You could change poor to single in most of these examples and it's still true.

What I don’t understand is why it’s basically a $35/transaction fee to take the money from my savings account instead. If you have the money in thier hands but it’s just not in the right place you’d think the fees would be far smaller.

You, uh, didn’t watch the second one huh?

The...the location change IS that great. One of them is 64.6 and the other is 65.6, which is...one mile apart. “2 miles away” and “1 mile away” are...one mile apart.

Exactly this. Customers, when shopping for cars, have somehow gotten to the point where dealer profit, whatever that is, is a dirty word.

Target can make a profit on a toaster, and there is no negotiation at the checkout, but a dealership cannot make a profit on a car, and if they do, they screwed the buyer?

Kinda off-topic, but I just did the math just for lulz. My last laptop was around $1,200. 2016 will be it’s 8th year, but since it’s technically only been through 7 years, let’s use 7. $1200 over 7 years = $171 per year. $171 over 12 months = $14 per month. That is cheap!!!! I think I can afford to splurge $2k on my

I do the same. I’ve paid over $1k for each of mine to make sure they endure in terms of performance. Laptops actually last quite a while if taken care of. I have a laptop from ~2001 that still works perfectly fine today (Win XP ftw, lol).

Michigan apparently has a form of indeterminate sentencing where the legislature sets a maximum sentence and a judge sets a minimum sentence. When the convicted person reaches the minimum sentence he’s allowed to go in front of a parole board to ask for release on parole, but must serve at least the minimum.

Right, it was definitely the judge that made it about race *eyeroll*

Not that this is surprising, but apparently a number of commenters on the Fox article about the sentencing accused the justice of posturing for attention and inappropriately making the sentencing about race. Because there’s no such thing as racism, unless it’s against White people....

Look on the bright side- it’s never been USSF driving the USWNT’s success anyway.

Perfect analysis! It’s worse for the women especially when they have a strong base of kids playing.

I’m so old that I know what you mean!
