@TurboBrick [LIGIER]: The shifter is console mounted on the current-gen Nissan Sentra, both CVT and manual. I think this was done to open up more room for the folding rear seat. The shifter handle is similar to the one from the Nissan Quest minivan.

@calzonegolem: This is particularly annoying when the overhead DVD players become an obstruction. On the Infiniti QX56 - that name rolls off the tongue - the front DVD player obstructs the driver's rear view mirror.
